High quality surface generation and efficient multiresolution editing based on triangle meshes

چکیده
Digitale Geometrieverarbeitung ist ein stetig wachsendes Forschungsgebiet, welches in den letzten Jahren erheblich an Bedeutung gewonnen hat. Dreidimensionale Flächen werden typischerweise mit Hilfe von Computer Aided Design (CAD) Programmen entworfen und modelliert, und ihre physikalische Eigenschaften mittels Finite Elemente (FEM) Simulationen untersucht. Ebenso können physikalische Prototypen mittlerweile kostengünstig und mit geringem Aufwand durch den Einsatz von 3D Laser-Scannern digitalisiert werden, was z.B. in der Unterhaltungsindustrie vermehrt eingesetzt wird. Gleichzeitig ermöglicht die steigende Leistungsfähigkeit aktueller PCs die interaktive Bearbeitung der resultierenden geometrischen Modelle.
